Nobody ever succeeds at being humble by saying to himself “be humble!” That exclamation lacks the capacity to solve a problem that is as hydra-headed as an age-long tree whose roots have gone deep into the earth. One does not wave a magic wand and voila, he is humble. True humility requires understanding.
If human beings are high-level computers, then pride is a system error – one that has to be debugged correctly. Proverbs 13:10 says, “Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.” Being well-advised is the purpose of this book. I believe the best gift to offer is the right word of advice, and not criticism.
However, the aim of this book is to bring to the fore the proper diagnosis of pride and the remedy thereof. The book is, in a progressive manner, precept upon precept, line upon line, a little here and a little there, to enable a flow-through process from the beginning to the end.
I would like to congratulate you reader in advance. I believe this book is for you, and I pray it works out not just humility in you but something of greater value – meekness. It is my prayer and earnest desire that, as you go through the pages of this book, the eyes of your understanding shall be enlightened, and your heart shall gain light and understanding to perceive the way that leads to life. This I pray in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
I will now get out of your way. Enjoy your reading.
