1 John 1:1-3: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
Why do we believe? Simple answer is that we have experienced Him. Like John says in the bible passage above, “we have not only heard but have also seen, looked upon and handled of this word of eternal life” meaning we have a personal conviction of and experience of His Person and that is what we bear witness of and share with you. Philemon 1:6 makes us know that the communication, sharing of our faith with others will become effective and not awkward when we first acknowledge (admit, show awareness, appreciate, recognize) every good thing which is in us in Christ Jesus. Today however, I have something I want to share with you. It is a biblical truth that has been repeated in the scriptures over and over again that I felt I had to give it more consideration and thought despite the simplicity of its message.
It is contained in Revelation 1:8 and it says “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty”.
Many of us bible students and Christians would notice the frequency of repetition and prevalence of this scripture in all its forms also seen as “the first and the last” in the bible. Especially in the book of Revelation (Rev 1:8, 11, 17 & 2:8, 3:14) to name a few and also Colossians 1:18 but it is also seen in Isaiah 41:4 saying “Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he”. Continue reading “There Is More”→
Hello dear friend, compliments of the day to you. It sure is a B-E-A-Utiful day today, mercies and grace on every side. We have looked at two of the basic components of SQ; knowledge and Attitude, others include behavior(1Tim3:2; Tit 2:3) and relationships(Luk6:31). Today we will identify the five(5) major phases through which a persons Spiritual intelligence develops and could be developed.
The first of these is the recognition phase. In this phase, a person becomes aware of the existence of their spiritual make-up. They essentially begin to understand the definite existence of their soul and spirit and inadvertently have an understanding of what following Jesus is all about.
The second phase is the reorientation phase. Here, a person begins to see the differences between a life lived without Jesus and a life with Him and therefore develops a desire to develop their relationship with Him more actively…
Hebrews 11:6 says “for without faith it is impossible to please God” but faith that is lacking in love is not pleasing God either because it is as good as dead or not having faith in the first place.
1 Corinthians 13:2, 13 says “..and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. And now abide in faith, hope, love, these three but the greatest of these is love”.
According to the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Galatians, the only thing that avails much in the Christendom is faith that works by love and nothing else. Galatians 5:6, “For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love”.
Last week I began to talk about depression and in summary I said the cure was to shift your focus because if you are depressed, you are focusing majorly on the wrong things and you are allowing them control you. I also said that you shift your focus primarily to God’s salvation to mankind through His Son Jesus Christ.
Now, this is a continuation from that post. I continue today because I could literally see the eyeballs rolling and saying; “why do Christians always throw Christ at every problem or challenge? – LOL” Well, it is because in Him we overcome it all. Say Amen!
