While growing up, there was this song we would sing after the holidays. “Holiday is over, holiday is over”!
The holidays are over and am hoping you can still get yourself to work, in fact you should be energized and ready to jump back in!
So, what are we getting done today?

- Next thing you need to get done is this – Get Answers! Get that desire, request, help from God and that prayer answered!
How do I do that? Here is how you do it.
A lot of people pray just for the sake of praying not because they want answers but that is not the purpose of prayer. Prayer is not a religious activity, it is how we get God’s will for our lives done on earth. He that told us to ask is ever ready to answer. He said ask and you shall receive, knock and it shall be opened to you and seek and you shall find. You have to know that you are loved perfectly and if He gave Christ to die for you, there is nothing good He can withhold from you. Thus His promises to us are not just yes or no but yes and in Him Amen!

But I have asked and not received.
Now, are there things that can hinder your receiving having asked? Yes. The first being what we just dealt with – doubt, unbelief. James 1:6-8 says that anyone asking without faith, double minded should not think he will receive anything from the Lord. James also said in James 4:3 that we ask and receive not because we ask amiss to spend it on our lusts. Meaning we are asking outside of God’s will.
But today, I give you a formula that works! One I have tried and I can say it works when it comes to getting this done. Abide in Him first.
John 15:8, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you”. This is the simplest way to get your desires and answers to prayers. I remember when I would cry that I was asking and not receiving, the truth for me was that I wasn’t abiding. I was more interested in what I could get from His hands than abiding and remaining with Him.
When abiding, first His will becomes your will such that you are not asking outside His will. Secondly, you move beyond faith to surrendering and trusting Him completely that He knows what is best for you per time and you become well rested and confident in His plans for you per time. And lastly, He shows you in the scriptures as you fellowship with Him in the study of the word the things that make for your peace, the things that have been freely given to you of God for life and godliness (health, peace, prosperity etc.) and how you can make them manifest in your life.
So, today get it done not by just asking but ask today by abiding in Him! And you abide by fellowship, building a life of fellowship with Him in study of the word and in prayers, not the prayer requests prayer, but one of worship and fellowship to listen and to follow and to know Him.
