A happy new week to you!
Today we are going to learn to say what we believe! Interesting right!
Yeah, personally am not one for positive confessions or speaking the word of faith. I have blamed my melancholy temperament for ages.
Yet scripture says in Proverbs 18:20 & 21 that “a man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled” and “death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”. Mark 11:23 says that “you shall have what you say”!
What! He shall be filled with the increase of his lips? They that love it? Come on! It is time to love it!
Yeah, but am not going to just say this and leave you hanging. If I don’t help you out, you probably will still have just head knowledge and not the understanding needed to put this to practice!
So, why are you not speaking into your life and not just speaking but speaking right, speaking faith?
Please drop your own answers in the comment section.
Here was my own reason.
DOUBT was my friend – not anymore. I couldn’t afford to speak against doubt my very good friend. It was my safety net just in case what I believed didn’t come to pass. So, when doubt came around to protect me from being hurt by my expectations, I gladly accepted its succor and I wouldn’t say anything to push it away. We became really good friends but now enemies.
You see doubt is not the problem, it goes to everyone but the real problem is how you relate with doubt. Do you think doubt is a friend, then you will never want to attack doubt with your words which are very powerful and can kill doubt.
Now, let me digress a little here to something else that is worthy of note;
The difference between Faith and Hope – I got this understanding from a Pastor, Pst. Basi in my church this last Sunday. Let me share it with you.
As good as hope is (Eccl 9:4), faith is stronger than hope! Someone might say, I hope that it will not rain tomorrow. There is a probability that it might still rain in that statement.
But faith? Hebrews 11:1, Faith is the substance of hope, evidence of things not seen. Meaning faith gives hope a reality, makes it a certainty, makes your hope a tangible thing that will happen. Faith kills all probabilities because faith comes by the word of God. Faith is believing the word of God over that situation and when you have received the word of faith, you will no longer say “I hope, I think it will not rain” but you will declare by the spirit of faith that comes from the word you have received over that situation “that it will not rain!” with all certainty!
This is how the spirit of faith operates. 2 Corinthians 4:13, “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak”!
Go get the word of God, your word of faith over that situation and begin to declare it not just hope for it! Kill every friendship with doubt and begin to fight it with the sword which is that your word of faith!
God bless you!
