I came to encourage you today, maybe you are even going through a tough time and at this point you think God has turned His back to you.
That couldn’t be further from the truth. He is right there in that trouble with you. Despite your pain and worry, God still loves you and has you in His thoughts. He understands more than you may even know. Know that He loves you and that you are loved perfectly.
Don’t let your circumstances tell you anything different. When things are going well, He loves me and when things are not going well, He loves me not. That’s the devil’s classic lie when times are tough and he is trying to take advantage of your circumstance to add torment upon torment and steal your joy and kill your faith and is the real enemy. Choosing this time of all times to break you further. The devil knows that God loves you and out of that jealousy looks for times like this to break your faith and relationship with Him. But when you submit to God’s word and truth that He loves you no matter what is going up or down, He will give you peace and solace even in that situation.
God’s love for you is a truth.
It cannot be changed by anything. Not those circumstances or anything else for that matter.
You need to fight the doubt and lie that comes when things are bad that He doesn’t’ love you.
You know Joseph’s story in the bible. Remember the scriptures have been given for our comfort so that we too might be comforted when we go through trials and afflictions that makes us feel like something unnatural is happening to us.
Joseph was sold by his own brothers, sold into slavery in a strange land. But Genesis 39:1-3 says “and the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian”. Despite all that happened to him, the Lord did not abandon Joseph. And he was a prosperous man and even Potiphar noticed the Lord blessed all that he had both in his house and in the field for Joseph’s sake.
And I believe that Joseph didn’t doubt God’s love for him all through that time. If he did, he wouldn’t have been able to resist Potiphar’s wife asking him daily to lie with her. But he replied “how can I do this great wickedness and sin against God”. Even when his uprightness landed him in yet a bigger prison, scriptures still says “But the LORD was with Joseph, and showed him mercy, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison”.
You know what you can do while in a trial or going through a tough time that will make the enemy furious? Be joyful, be thankful and abide in your Father’s love. In His presence is the fullness of joy – Psalms 16:10. Joseph in that prison was enjoying the joy and peace that flows from the presence of the Lord for the Lord was with Him and when he saw Pharaoh’s butler and baker sad, he had to ask them “Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?” And that was the beginning of his journey out of that prison to the wealthy place God had prepared for him – Psalms 66:12.
I pray that He gives you peace that passes understanding, strength that no man can understand to bear that situation for He doesn’t allow to come to you what you cannot bear and finally, He will bring you out of all that into your wealthy place. Just hang on for a little while.
I love you but I know He loves you so much more than you can even begin to imagine!
God bless you and have a July filled with His love and joy!
And your joy is not a function of good things happening, but of His presence with you!
