Matthew 6:33

Seek God First, Matthew 6,33

And it says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”.

If I were to see through all our hearts and make a list of the things we pursue after individually, the list would be endless as we all are different. I bet the highlights in all our list would be food, clothing, housing, family, job fulfillment, societal relevance and importance to name a few.

However, God can see through our hearts and knows all our needs and desires. He took a good look at it all and gave us an order to apply to these things we pursue.

The order is that we seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness FIRST. And when we seek Him first, we don’t have to seek any other thing, they are ADDED to us.

This order simplifies our life greatly. Instead of the crazy of jumping from pillar to post trying to meet all these demands, we get to do only ONE thing and get all of the others as a bonus package, an addition.

It also allows us to prioritize our lives properly. Giving utmost importance to God, not allowing anything else contend with His place in our lives.

But most importantly, this order shows us why He created us. We were made for His praise and glory, to show forth His praises and to live for Him. He made us for Himself not to spend our entire lives pursuing one desire or need for all time till death comes knocking. And because of this, He makes it that when we fulfill the reason why He made us, every other thing we need for living for Him is made available to us as a bonus because we are fulfilling the reason for which He brought us into existence.

If you don’t take anything away from this post today then take this. God made you for Himself and when you live for Him, everything you need to live comfortably and meaningfully in this life is given, added to you!

So, I ask you today. Are you living for God? Is He even a part of your life? Do you know He made you for Himself? Are you ready to live for Him? Have you given Him you heart and life? Is He your Lord and Saviour? Do you even know Him? Do you have a relationship with Him? Would you like to know Him?

Too many questions? Am sorry, but these are all questions you need to answer or take up in prayers with Him. He is willing and waiting at the door of your heart even right now. It is my prayer that you will grant Him the access He desires.

Lastly, 1 Chronicles 15:13 says “for because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order”. David and the children of Israel didn’t seek Him after the due order and were therefore not successful in their first attempt to move the Ark of covenant back home. It is my prayer that you will begin to seek the Lord after the due order. Not the things you desire or need but God first.

I love you but you know He loves you MORE than you can ever imagine!

God bless!
